Audemars Piguet was founded in 1875 in the Vallée de Joux and is still family-owned. The brand became world-famous in 1972 with the Royal Oak, the octagonal steel luxury sports watch with visible screws and a “Tapisserie” dial designed by Gérald Genta. Royal Oak models make up most of the demand on the pre-owned market – but prices differ considerably from one reference to the next.
Audemars Piguet models we buy
- Royal Oak “Jumbo” Extra-Thin: the direct successors of the original Royal Oak, such as the 15202 and the current 16202 with calibre 7121 – among the most sought-after AP references of all.
- Royal Oak Selfwinding and Chronograph: 41 mm models such as the 15400, 15500 and 15510, the 37 mm versions, and chronographs such as the 26320, 26331 or 26240.
- Royal Oak Offshore: the larger, sportier line since 1993 – from steel chronographs to ceramic and special editions.
- Code 11.59, Millenary and Jules Audemars: we also value the more classic and newer lines, as well as complications such as perpetual calendars and tourbillons.
What determines the price of your Audemars Piguet
- Case and bracelet: on the Royal Oak, brushed and polished surfaces alternate in a very small space. If the watch has been polished badly, these edges become blurred – one of the biggest causes of lost value with AP.
- Dial: the Tapisserie pattern must be undamaged, and some dial colours are clearly more in demand than others.
- Reference and material: steel, rose gold, yellow gold, titanium or ceramic – together with the exact reference – define the price range.
- Completeness and service: box, warranty card, receipt and documented services at Audemars Piguet increase the price. Without papers we still buy – we check authenticity using the movement, case and serial number.
Please do not have your Royal Oak refinished before selling. Unpolished watches with honest signs of wear are usually worth more.

Frequently asked questions
Which Audemars Piguet watches fetch the highest prices?
The Royal Oak “Jumbo” Extra-Thin (for example 15202 and 16202) and steel Royal Oak models such as the 15500 and 15510 are the most sought after. Royal Oak chronographs and well-kept Offshore models are also in strong demand.
Does polishing reduce the value of a Royal Oak?
Yes, often significantly. The Royal Oak relies on the contrast between brushed and polished surfaces. If the case or bracelet has been polished improperly, these edges are lost – so please do not have the watch refinished before selling.
Can I sell my Audemars Piguet without papers?
Yes. We check authenticity using the movement, case and serial number. A missing warranty card or box lowers the price but does not prevent a sale.
