Free watch valuation in Berlin

Find out what your watch is worth today – by photo on WhatsApp or in person at our store. Free of charge and with no obligation to sell.

Want to know how much your watch is worth? ChronoMarket values luxury watches free of charge and without obligation – by photo via WhatsApp or in person at our store at Uhlandstraße 47, 10719 Berlin. You get an honest assessment of today's market value, with no pressure to sell.

Two ways to get your watch valued

  • Online via WhatsApp: send photos of the dial, case back, side view and papers. You usually receive a first price estimate within 30 minutes during opening hours.
  • In person in Berlin: at an appointment we inspect the watch closely – authenticity, movement, timekeeping, condition of case and bracelet – and then give you a binding purchase price.

What we look at

  • Authenticity: reference and serial number, case, dial and movement.
  • Originality of parts: replacement parts and aftermarket dials or bezels reduce the value.
  • Technical condition: rate deviation, winding and functions.
  • Cosmetic condition: scratches, dents and traces of polishing.
  • Completeness: box, papers, service records and extra links.
  • Market situation: current prices for the model in the trade and on the collector market.

How to take good photos

The better the photos, the narrower the price range we can give you. Shoot in daylight without flash:

  • the dial straight from the front, so that the text and markers are readable
  • the case back with all engravings and numbers
  • the side view with the crown, so we can judge any polishing
  • clasp and bracelet – for metal bracelets, ideally the number of links
  • papers, warranty card and receipt, if available

For a Rolex, a photo of the reference number between the lugs also helps; for Omega, the number on the case back or papers.

Market value, purchase price and insurance value

These three figures are often confused. The market value is the price at which watches of this model are currently traded. A dealer's purchase price is lower, because the dealer takes on inspection, refurbishment and warranty. The insurance value is usually based on the new price or replacement cost.

Please note: ChronoMarket does not issue written appraisals for insurance or probate purposes. Our valuation is a purchase valuation – you find out what we would pay you for your watch.

Why online watch price calculators are often wrong

Many websites promise a watch value in seconds. These tools work with average prices and know nothing about the condition or originality of your watch. A replaced dial, a heavily polished case or a missing link can change the price by hundreds or thousands of euros. Asking prices on platforms like Chrono24 show what sellers want – not what is actually paid. As a verified Chrono24 dealer we know both sides and explain how our price is made up.

When a valuation makes sense

  • Before selling or trading in: you know which amount to expect.
  • After an inheritance: the family gets a basis for dividing the estate without having to sell immediately – see inherited watches.
  • After years in a safe: some models are worth much more today than when they were bought, others less.
  • If you own several watches: we help you decide which to keep and which to sell.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a watch valuation cost?

Nothing. The valuation at ChronoMarket is free and without obligation, by photo or in person.

Do I have to sell my watch after the valuation?

No. You decide in your own time whether to accept our offer.

How accurate is a valuation by photo?

It gives a reliable price range. We give the final price after inspecting the watch at our store, because the movement and original parts can only be checked in hand.

Can I get a watch valued without papers?

Yes. We check authenticity using the watch itself. Missing papers usually lower the price slightly but do not prevent a purchase.

Do you issue written appraisals for insurance?

No. Our valuation is a purchase valuation. We do not issue written certificates for insurance or probate purposes.
